Providing structure and consistency enables students to learn the importance of continuity.  From elementary through high school, stability promotes confidence in self and others and affects decision-making skills and attitude.  Teaching students to aspire to high expectations, to be accountable for their actions, to validate and encourage the importance of contributing to society, and that working together promotes equity for all will improve their lives and their community.

Kim L. Allen, Ed.D., Administrator and CEO, was inducted into the Delaware Commission for Women’s Hall of Fame on March 26, 2015.  She holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Master degrees in Social Work Management and Educational Administration.   Dr. Allen is certified from the state of Delaware as Supervisor of Special Services and as Secondary Principal.  In addition to operating early intervention schools and programs servicing youth in grades kindergarten through twelve, her repertoire of expertise is inclusive of conference presentations, professional development training to schools and businesses, and observational evaluations.

Dr. Allen served on the Delaware Department of Education Positive Behavior Support Committee, which established and reviewed the impact and design of personal support plans for school-age children.  This process has allowed the implementation of numerous aspects of the Positive Behavior Support criteria at programs currently operated by Dr. Allen.  The Compass School was the first alternative school in Delaware to achieve Star School Status. Dr. Allen has also served on the Markell Education Transition Team, as a Vision 2015 work group member, and as a MWUL Achievement Matters member.

William L. Allen, President and CFO, has an MBA in marketing and finance and serves as liaison with professionals willing to support the school-to-work and mentor aspects.  Mr. Allen’s extensive experience with area businesses affords him the opportunity to solicit experienced individuals who provide mentor training and basic life skills experience, such as money management, professional conduct, and hands-on training.

Kim and William Allen are members, board directors, and participating supporters of numerous agencies and affiliations in the tri-state area. Their continued involvement in the community provides an array of opportunity and experience that will benefit and support the clear direction of the student population.  Such guidance and knowledge from the business world to the minds of the students is an educational process that stretches beyond the walls of the classroom.
